Direct TV or Cable TV?

Many people get confused when choosing between Direct TV and Cable TV. We know that both are paid TV’s, but we need to compare them first prior to any decision.

A DirectTV provider is directsattv.com. After comparing direct TV service and one of cable TV service namely Time Warner, I come up with several conclusions as follows:

Direct TV has 100% digital quality on every channel while Time Warner only offers such quality on higher-numbered channels. For outages, direct TV has 99.96% signal of the time comparing with Time Warner that has more frequent and longer-lasting outages. Direct TV offers Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround on all channels while it only available with HDTV on Time Warner.

Both Direct TV and Time Warner offer Digital Video Recording (DVR) service, but Time Warner charges monthly fee for such service about twice that of Direct TV. For international programming, Direct TV offers over 30 different languages while Warner Time only provides Spanish, German, French, Italian, Hindi and Vietnamese.

From the comparison above, it is clear that we will get more benefit with Direct TV. There are several Direct TV packages available, i.e. Premier, Plus HD DVR, Plus DVR, Choice Xtra, Choice, and Family.

Premier Direct TV Package offers more than 250 channels including premium movie channels and sports networks. It also provides free DVR or HD receiver after instant rebate. Choice Xtra package offers more than 185 channels including 68 XM Satellite Radio Channels. Free DVR or HD receiver after instant rebate. If you want that all family, include your children, can enjoy the programs, you may choose Family package which offering Parental Controls and over 40 channels suitable for all ages.
